SYNOPSIS: Each new or modified vehicle Program generates a list of production part container requirements.
General Motors Containerization manages requirements for each production part by Project in the
Container Planning and Development "FaST" database. Container requirements include the Production
Quantity and delivery timing Milestones.
Engineers design a bill of material (BOM) of GM purchased Packaging Items for each container.
Once packaging items have been quoted and production orders awarded, Schedule Attainment (SA)
works closely with the Container Suppliers to assure containers are supplied on time to the user.
This activity is supported through the use of the GM Containers Website Schedule Attainment Status
and Maintenance link.
The Schedule Attainment application is to be used as the container production and shipment reporting tool.
For each "FAST" uploaded project, SA inputs the container BOM and the required quantity and shipment milestones
for each packaging item. Container suppliers input shipment forecasts, current weekly shipment status and comments.
The application relies on both GM Containerization and Supplier reporting, its success is truly a team effort.
GM Containerization Schedule Attainment is committed to providing thorough and accurate information, and updating
all changes in a timely manner. Suppliers will be expected to submit weekly reports by the reporting deadline,
immediately update data when project requirements have changed, and to notify Schedule Attainment of problem or errors.
